Monty Funk provides training and workshops for recording, editing, presentation and archiving oral history projects.
The company has been involved in many oral history recording and production projects as both producers and consultants. Having worked with organizations including The British Library, Birmingham Museum & Art Galleries, Redbridge Museum and the Museum of London, Monty Funk has amassed a great deal of experience in oral history production and training
We are members of the Oral History Society, Association of Heritage Interpretation and Corporate Members of the Museums Association. We adhere to industry legal and ethical protocol at al times, and are continue to develop standards and best-practices of audio acquisition and production. We are eager to keep standards high for oral history recording, production and archiving.
Using the very latest in portable digital recording, along with editing restoration systems (including SADiE™, Wavelab™, ProTools™ CEDAR™ and iZotope™), Monty Funk's oral history recording and production activities have become well-known.
Providing a journalistic approach to oral history recording and production, brings out the best in those who are talking, putting them at ease whilst eliciting engaging material.
With the unearthing of recorded material and the digitizing of tape-based recordings comes a very special responsibility and the archiving and restoration of oral history and other material is a matter of professional application.
For this reason, Monty Funk have been chosen to archive a number of collections as well as repair damage made to oral history testimonies by poor technical know-how and bad recording practice.
