The growing Monty Funk team of BBC producers and technologists have been presenting workshops in schools, universities and colleges, enabling participants to acquire the skills of the professional broadcaster. Our workshops include standards-compliant training and are aimed at establishing best-practice methodology for individuals and within creative organisations.
What we offer:
Best-practice training and development for professionals. Our workshops are aimed at those needing audio production and editing skills in their existing roles - radio production, sound design, archiving, restoration, museum work, audio tours, podcasting and audio presentation. Workshops include:
- Audio Production for New Practitioners: a variety of short training courses enabling those who need skills to create or re-work existing material for podcasting, oral history, archiving or restoration.
- Radio Production Training: creative and practical radio production for BBC producers, recording engineers, university staff, students and other media-based organisations.
- Radio Drama Production Workshops: a professional's approach to high-end radio feature, drama and drama/doc production. These workshops are staffed only by award-winning professionals who have been working for the BBC at the highest level. They bring their strategies, ideas, concepts, working and best-practices to any group audience.
- Production Software Training: short, focused courses for those who need to know the techniques, tips, tricks, methods and best-practices in a variety of production tools, including ProTools™, SADiE™, Adobe Audition™ and other popular editing tools.
- Professional Podcasting: short course for practitioners who want the professional approach, know-how, techniques, tips, tricks, methods and best-practices for podcasting.

Oral History Training Workshops: for
practitioners wishing to gain an understanding of how to approach oral
history recording. We develop
best-practices in acquisition - equipment technology, techniques, storage,
archiving and preservation, and explore the psychological, social and
community aspects of oral history.
- Guest Lectures: at schools, colleges and universities on the current production methods in BBC Radio and the independent sector.

Monty Funk™ is an official Approved Training supplier for SADiE, the BBC's core audio editing system, and offers training to individuals and organisation who need this level of editing. The courses and workshops we run are designed for members of
